Feeling disgust is a very normal thing for both adults and kids. So why shouldn’t we teach our children how to express it in their second language? It’s very important they not only learn academic stuff in their second language, but also every day, normal things.
That includes feelings and emotions, even those catalogued as not very positive, like disgust. This way, they’ll learn that it’s okay to express that you’re disgusted by something, it’s normal in any language.
So, if your children are learning Spanish, our TFK teacher has the perfect TikTok lesson for them! Let’s help them learn how to express disgust in Spanish.
This way, we’ll expand their Spanish vocabulary, as well as make them understand that their emotions of disgust are valid. Plus, they’ll learn something important for their everyday self-expression in Spanish. And we’ll get to know them better because they’ll tell us what they like and dislike.
See? This short TruFluency Kids TikTok lesson brings tons of benefits!

Spanish Phrases to Express Disgust
First, we have to learn the two main words that will guide this class: “Fuchi” and “Guacala”. Above we translated them as “iugh”, which is true. But that’s just a small translation of these awesome, Spanish words.
They can also have other disgust-related translations, like “gross!”. Basically, they’re expressions used to let other people know the things we find disgusting.
For example:
- ¡Ay, fuchi! Huele feo. / Eww! Something smells bad.
- El gato se hizo caca. ¡Guacala! / The cat pooped. That’s gross!
You can also use them together for extra disgust. For example:
- ¡Ay, no! ¿Vamos a comer eso? ¡Fuchi, guacala! / We’re having that for dinner? Eww!
Did you notice how we used some of the words above for these sentences? Now your kids know how to use those words in a sentence.
